DANBURY — City police are investigating a robbery of the Webster Bank location on Mill Plain Road.
Police responded to the bank at about 11:35 a.m. for a reported robbery.
Police at the scene reported to dispatch that the suspects had fled the scene, leaving cash scattered behind in the lobby of the bank. A dye pack went off during the robbery and police were advised that the suspects may have dye on them, according to scanner reports.
Area police were notified of the incident over police scanners and the suspects involved were described as men standing about 6 feet tall wearing black hooded sweatshirts and masks. They were last seen driving toward New York in a black Chevrolet sedan.
It was not immediately clear if police the same suspects were responsible for a holdup about one hour earlier at Michaels Jewelers on Federal Road.
