Did you miss your chance to audition for a role in one of the shows being put on by Musicals at Richter this year?
You still have a shot to audition for a role in “Anything Goes” or “The Wizard of Oz,” but you better start preparing now – auditions will be at the Melrose School, 120 Federal Hill Road, Brewster, N.Y., on Monday, April 21, from 7 to 10 p.m.
Musicals at Richter is going into its 30 season as an outdoor musical theater based at Richter Park in Danbury. The 2014 mainstage musical season will include “Anything Goes,” to be performed June 27 to July 12, directed and choreographed by Jeri Kansas; and “The Wizard of Oz,” to be performed July 25 to Aug. 9, directed by George Vollano and choreographed by Caitlin Roberts.
Adult performers, age 14 and up, are asked to prepare two contrasting songs from traditional and contemporary musical theatre that show their range. An accompanist will be provided. Young performers, ages 6 to 13, are asked to prepare a short song in their key. “Happy Birthday” is an acceptable alternative.
