WestConn program focuses on human trafficking

DANBURY – The global issue of human trafficking will be the topic of a four-day program at Western Connecticut State University that begins Monday.

The program kicks off with a panel discussion in women’s, children’s and family rights and contemporary slavery that is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. in Room 102 at Warner Hall.

Panelists include Tammy Sneed of the state Department of Children and Families, Melanie Danyliw of the Women’s Center of Greater Danbury , Frank Barnaba, founder of the Barnaba Institute in Trumbull and Dr. Jane Gordon, an associate professor at the University of Connecticut.

Admission is free and the public is invited.
