New principal chosen for Branchville School

Keith Margolus will be the new principal of Branchville Elementary School in Ridgefield.
The Ridgefield Board of Education voted unanimously to hire Margolus for the position Monday. He will replace Jason McKinnon, who is leaving the Ridgefield school system to become the assistant superintendent of schools in New Fairfield.
Margolus is a veteran of the Darien school system, having worked there as a  teacher, assistant principal and principal for the past 14 years.
Superintendent Deborah Low said  Margolus’ work in  Darien was notable for his work in promoting writing  and literacy programs. Low said staff and parents there praised him for his passion for education, his knowledge of the field, his collaborative spirit and his openness and honesty,
