Do you – YOU! – feel like I do?

What I mean is: Are you psyched to know Peter Frampton will be playing at Ives Concert Park in Danbury on July 5? Have you gotten tickets yet?

This should be a very cool concert because in addition to all of his great classics, he has a new album coming out on June 24. It’s called “Hummingbird in a Box” and I’m betting he will play some tunes from it.

Word is that the new music was inspired by the Cincinnati Ballet, and that the album features seven original guitar pieces in Frampton’s virtuosic stylings.

As a fellow guitarist (though nowhere approaching his league) this new collection is especially interesting to me. Did you know Frampton was lead singer and guitarist for a British band when he was 16? At 18, he co-founded one of the first super groups, seminal rock act Humble Pie.

Frampton has worked with everyone from George Harrison and David Bowie to Jerry Lee Lewis and Ringo Starr. His fifth solo album, “Frampton Comes Alive!” is my favorite. I guess lots of other people liked it too, because it’s one of the top-selling live records of all time.

The Danbury concert will be Saturday, July 5, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster.com. Prices are $79, $59 and $39. Lawn seats are $29 and the usual additional fees apply.
