The Leir Foundation has given the Ridgefield Community Center a $10,000 grant to support its programming in the coming year.
The center’s director Di Masters, said the Leir Foundation — founded by industrialist and philanthropist Henry Leir and his wife Edna — have supported the center generously for several years.
Masters said the grant will enable the center to help the town in a number of ways.
The center is located at the historic Lounsbury House, built in 1896 by Phineas Lounsbury, a former governor of Connecticut.
“We use the grant to allow community groups to use the Lounsbury House at very low cost, or in some cases, no cost at all,’’ masters aid. “We also use it to support programs at the center. It’s used to the most good for the most people.’’
