The Housatonic Habitat for Humanity will have a dedication ceremony at 24 Hospital Ave. on Saturday at 10:30 for five families who will be moving into their new townhouses in July.
The local Habitat program matches volunteers with low-income families willing to invest sweat equity into the construction of their own home, with no-interest mortgages that make it affordable for these families.
Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton will greet the families, and each will be presented with tool kits, house wares and other such goods, as well as a family quilt for their new homes.
Housatonic Habitat serves the following communities: Bethel, Brookfield, Bridgewater, Danbury, New Canaan, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield, Roxbury, Sherman, Washington, Weston and Wilton. To learn more, visit www.housatonichabitat.org.
