Danbury man charged in gun incident

DANBURY — A 30-year-old city man is facing multiple charges after police responded to a report that he had pointed a gun at a man and threatened him.

Milton Ortiz, of Elm Street, Danbury was arrested Friday at 3:10 p.m. after being stopped driving on Division Street near West Street. He initially gave officers a different name and showed and international driver’s permit under that name, police said.

Officers located a BB gun under the driver’s seat and ziplock bags of a white powder that tested positive for cocaine, according to police.

Ortiz was charged with possession of narcotics, two counts of possession of drugs in a prohibited place, possession with intent to sell, having a weapon in a motor vehicle, third-degree forgery and interfering/resisting arrest.

He was held on $75,000 bond with a court date of June 16 at Superior Court in Danbury.
