photoHuckleberry Hill Elementary fourth-graders in Brookfield delighted their student body and faculty, as well as central office administration and the Board of Education, with their yearbook that featured a cover contest that showcases the talented artwork of chosen third-grader Rachel Tang.

Yearbook staff members Jackson Sharpe and Madison Powers informed the school board Wednesday nighta bout the process that went into the book, and that included not only taking pictures of school events and arranging for student pictures to be displayed inside but also required marketing it to generate advertisements to help cover the costs.

“It was fun, but a long job,” Sharpe explained.

One of the Brookfield High School yearbook editors Stephanie Ferrarie said she got her start with making yearbooks back at Huckleberry. She and co-editor Alexis McPadden also showed off the results of their 2014 yearbook, one done completely online this year,  titled, “Looking Back, Moving Forward.”

“The yearbook is not just a club, it’s a lifestyle,” Ferrarie explained. The yearbook has been a ride.”

“Go Yearbook,” said Sharpe, who just might one day be producing his high school class’ book of memories.
