The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) has issued an air quality alert for Fairfield County.
The air quality index (AQI) measure how clean or polluted the air is. For several towns in the area on Tuesday, the air quality is forecasted to reached “unhealthy standards for sensitive groups.”
According to the AQI, people who are more sensitive to air pollutants will be greater risk for respiratory symptoms, while the general public is not likely to be affected.
The air quality alert is in effect from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
