RIDGEFIELD — The Board of Selectman voted 3-2 Wednesday in favor of a contract with an art collector wishing to purchase a 12-acre parcel of the former Schlumerger-Doll Research Center.
Negotiatians between the town and the art collector -named in a January public hearing as Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum board chairman Eric Diefenbach- have gone on for almost two years. Diefenbach has intentions of salvaging four existing buildings on the property, First Selectman Rudy Marconi said.
The former Schlumberger property, located at 45 Old Quarry Road, was purchased by the town two and a half years ago and has been divided into five parcels. It is being developed into a blend of residential and commercial properties.
