A small plane crashed into the swamp near Danbury airport Thursday night after missing the runway, fire department officials confirmed.
An adult male was the only person in the plane. It is not known how serious his injuries are, although they are not believed to be life-threatening, officials said.
The plane crashed near Foley’s Pump Service, 30 Miry Brook Road, Danbury Fire Department spokesman Steven Rogers said.
More than 20 members of the Danbury Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene around 7:15 p.m. A boat was also launched as part of the rescue.
