A Danbury teenager was arrested Monday for sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl.
Johnny Zaruma, 19, has been investigated by the Danbury Police Department’s Special Victims Unit since February of this year. After receiving reports regarding a pregnant 14-year-old girl, police said.
It was suspected that Zaruma was the father, based on the investigation an arrest warrant was issued. Zaruma was found in his home on Stillman Avenue, where he was taken into custody, police said.
He has been charged with sexual assault in the 2nd degree, risk of injury to a minor, and illegal sexual contact to a minor. Zaruma was held on a $5,000 bond.
