Severe weather brought down trees and power lines Wednesday night causing massive power outages in Fairfield County.
According to Connecticut Light & Power (CL&P), there more than 1,500 outages in Ridgefield due to a downed power line. As of this morning there are 11 customers in Danbury, three in Ridgefield, and one in Redding still with out power.
A tree had fallen down on train tracks near Wilton around 6 p.m. caused long delays for Metro-North’s Danbury Branch. A substitute bus used take passengers to there next stops, while crews worked to remove the tree.
The National Weather Service reports there will be isolated showers and thunderstorms for Fairfield County on Thursday afternoon. The rest of the day will be mostly sunny, with a high near 79.
