The Ridgefield Police will be cracking down on speeding for the next two months.
According to a press release from the Ridgefield police, the department received a total of $18,190 from a federal highway safety grant in July. The money will be used to increase radar enforcement throughout the town.
The grant allocated $3,790 to buy two new radar units and $14,400 for additional speed enforcement. Officers will be focusing on rural roads in Ridgefield that are at a high risk for accidents. The increased speed enforcement will continue through August and September.
