A Danbury man who in 2012 was charged with raping a teenage girl repeatedly for over two years will have his day in court.
Elmer Granados, 47, will face fives counts each of first-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor and illegal sexual contact on Monday in Superior Court.
The victim, now 17, told investigators the abuse began before her family came to Danbury from another country in 2010, and there have been at least 20 incidents since then, according to an arrest warrant affidavit filed in court.
In 2012 Granados pleaded not guilty to the charges and was held on a $50,000 bond. He has not been released from custody.
Granados’s will have a trial by jury at 10 a.m. in Danbury.
