The Connecticut Department of Transportation will close parts of Route 7 in Danbury next week.
Route 7 South off ramp and on ramp to Route 7 North at exit 8, Backus Avenue, are scheduled to be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. on August 18 through August 21.
The ramps will be closed for the removal of an existing bridge’s deck joints. The closures are required to complete replacement of bridge joints on the ramp structures.
These two locations are one of thirteen bridges that are being completed as part of a DOT project, which was awarded to Arborio Corporation for a sum of $2,283,130. The bridge projects will be completed in November.

Route 7 South off ramp to Backus Avenue exit 8 - cars will be directed to follow detour to Exit 7, Sugar Hollow Road and back onto Backus Ave.
Route 7 North on ramp from Backus Avenue - cars will be directed to follow detour to Sugar Hollow Road to Wooster Heights and onto the ramp for Route 7 north.
