The Danbury Library needs volunteers to help tag 116,000 items in its collection to prepare for a new system.
The library is transitioning to a Radio Frequency Identification system that replaces magnetic bar codes on library items.
The new technology, which consists of tiny computer chips, will give the library better control over its inventory and allow patrons to check out multiple books at one time without having librarians scan the items.
