UPDATE: Firefighters from Sherman, Gaylordsville, Kent, and Wingdale, N.Y., reportedly responded to the scene of the brush fire along the Appalachian Trail. According to reports, the brush fire was brought under control fairly quickly once the area involved was reached.
EARLIER: Reports of a brush fire off the Appalachian Trail in Sherman have been confirmed. It is along the Herrick Trail near the Housatonic overlook.
