The Ridgefield Fire Department was called to a house fire at 29 Old Mill Road at about 4 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4.
Fire Chief Kevin Tappe said the house was fully involved when firefighters arrived. Because the house was in an area where there were no hydrants nearby, it took a while to establish water lines, he said.
As of 11:30 a.m., firefighters were checking for and putting out hot spots. No one was injured in the fire, the chief said.
