DANBURY — Two drunken driving arrests occurred in Danbury on Saturday and early Sunday morning.
Saul Mejias, 28, of Railroad Street, New Milford was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and evading responsibility Sunday at about 2:57 a.m. after Danbury police located his vehicle on Liberty Street.
Mejias has been seen on Ives Street getting into a white Cadillac and driving away and striking and damaging a curb, police said. He was located by police on Liberty Street. He failed a field sobriety test, according to police. He was held on $15,000 bond in this incident and remanded to prison on an outstanding parole violation.
Gustavo Bravo, 44, of East Liberty Street, Danbury was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs Friday about 4:46 p.m. after officers responded to a motor vehicle accident on East Liberty Street.
Bravo has walked into his house following the collision, coming out again when officers arrived. A strong odor of alcohol was noticed on his person, police said. He failed a subsequent field sobriety test, according to police.
Bravo was released on $1,000 bond with a court date of Oct. 16 in Superior Court in Danbury.
