October has marked a new low for Connecticut gas prices in 2014, as prices around the state continue to drop.

On Monday, prices at the pump averaged $3.37. A total of five cents lower than this time last week, 26 cents lower than last month, and 29 cents lower than last year, according to AAA Southern New England.
Gas prices continue to drop due to; low crude oil prices, switch to winter blend and a large supply of gasoline, according to AAA.
Connecticut is still fifth in the nation with the highest average gas prices, according to AAA.
Connecticut is beat by Hawaii at $4.05 a gallon, Alaska $3.77, New York $3.41 and California $3.39. Tennessee and South Carolina both at $2.79 average the nation’s lowest prices.
