Tony Monaco of East Haven is the lucky winner of this year’s 2000 Corvette Convertible Car raffle conducted by the Kent Memorial Library. His winning ticket, no. 2481, was purchased during a weekend jaunt to Lime Rock.

Monaco’s ticket was drawn Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. After he was contacted, he made a trip up to Kent to take a look at the car, which wasn’t going to be ready for pick up until Wednesday.
The Kent Memorial Library launched its annual car raffle ten years ago and has featured classic vehicles such as a 2001 Chevy Corvette, a 1952 MG TD Roadster, a 1953 MG, a 1931 Chevy coupe and a 1967 Jaguar XK-E coupe, along with sought-after cars such as a Prius hybrid and a Mini Cooper. Proceeds go to support the Library’s operating budget.
