A Danbury man was arrested for swearing at children, begging for items and refusing to leave the Spirit Halloween store Thursday night.
Danbury police officers were sent to the Halloween store on Newtown Road for an unwanted persons complaint.
When officers arrived, they were met by the manager who told them that Kevin Petroski, 53, was inside the store and refused to leave.
Petroski was begging for free items and was bothering employees, police said. When officers attempted to ask Petroski to voluntarily leave, he refused.
Petroski then started to curse and yell in front of the store filled with children and parents. At that point officers placed Petroski under arrest which he resisted. After a brief struggle, Petroski was put into handcuffs.
He was charged with criminal trespassing, breach of peace and interfering with a officer and was held on a $5,000 bond.
