Drivers may experience traffic and detours on Route 7 and I-84, as the Department of Transportation will be closing lanes, ramps and highway shoulders over the next few months. 
Starting Friday, Nov. 14, the Department of Transportation will be rehabilitating a bridge over I-84, Route 7 and Beaver Brook in Danbury.
Crews will begin painting the structure carrying the Route 7 Southbound Exit 10 ramp to I-84 Eastbound in Danbury. This work is expected to continue over the winter months.
The project consists of substructure repairs, abrasive blast cleaning and painting of steel beams, replacement of bearings, and deck resurfacing along with minor safety improvements.
Lane closure information:
There will only be shoulder closures during the daytime on I-84 and Route 7 including the Exit 10 ramp.
Mondays-Thursdays:
- Route 7 Southbound 7 p.m. – 6 a.m. and Northbound 8 p.m. – 6 a.m.
- I-84 Westbound 9 p.m – 6 a.m and Eastbound 10 p.m. – 6 a.m.
Fridays – Sundays:
- Lane closures begin between 9 and 10 p.m. and complete between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m.Saturday and Sunday.
Ramp closure information - Route 7 Southbound, Exit 10, to I-84 East
- Exit 10 Ramp closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Saturday
Detour- Traffic will be detoured to I-84 Westbound Exit 6, Route 37, where they will be directed to the I-84 eastbound on ramp.
