NEW MILFORD — A team from Arum & Associates, of Torrington, has been hired as the transition managers for New Milford schools. The two man team was hired Tuesday night by the Board of Education.
Partner Ed Arum was a schools superintendent for business for 30 years during which time he oversaw several moves of students from one school to another and the closing of three schools. While in Middlebury he oversaw redistricting the district to include students from Southbury.
Arum’s assistant Jeff Olesfson was previously a consultant for school districts and severd on a school board where the district was experiencing an increase in student popultion that had to be addressed, he said.
Both men said they are used to working through transition periods where emotions run high and open, transparent communication is paramount.
