DANBURY — State Police are implementing Operation CARE (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) starting at midnight Tuesday until midnight Dec. 1.
Special emergency State Police vehicles will be in use as part of the storm plan in the event they are needed for an emergency.
Additional troopers will patrol roads and highways across the state focusing on drunk drivers and targeting aggressive and unsafe drivers.
Roving DUI patrols and sobriety checkpoints will take place. Troop A will have a greater roving DUI patrol area including Danbury on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, a DUI sobriety checkpoint will be on Lake Avenue Extenstion (route 202) in Danbury between I-84 westbound exit 4 off ramp and I-84 eastbound exit 4 on ramp. A secondary location will be I-84 exit ramp to Lake Avenue Extension. These checkpoints will be in conjunction with Danbury Police Department and the Breath Alcohol Testing Mobile Unity.
