After weeks of surveillance and investigation, the Danbury Police Department arrested a Danbury man for selling crack cocaine out of his home, police said.

Jason Jones, 34, of Mill Plain Road was arrested Tuesday afternoon in his homes by the special investigations division, police said. The investigation began when citizens complained that Jones was selling drugs out of his home.

Based on a surveillance of Jones, police found activity consistent with drug trafficking, police said. A Judge from the Danbury Superior Court found probable cause to believe Jones was selling illegal drugs and authorized a search of his home.

While executing the search warrant of Jones’ home, officers found crack cocaine packaged for sale and  an 11-year-old child living in the home, police said.

Jones was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell,  possession of narcotics within 1500 feet of a school,  possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1500 feet of a school and risk of injury to a child.

He was held on a cash bond of $5,000 and is awaiting arraignment, his court date has not been set.
