Two Danbury girls performed well at the Tap Dance World Championships held in Riesa, Germany Dec. 2-7.
Lindsey Bieber from King St. Intemediate School and Mackenna Beirne from Danbury High School are students at the Seven Star School of Performing Arts, Brewster, NY.
Lindsey Bieber, age 10, and her duo dance partner Angela Ye, age 9, placed 6th out of 18 in the Children’s Division (ages 8-11).
This was the first time the two girls had tap danced as a duo and their first time competing internationally.
Mackenna Beirne and her duo dance partner placed 5th in Junior division.
Two other duo tap teams from the Seven Stars School placed 2nd and 4th in the Junior division.
The dance studio sent the following students: Sarah Bak, Mackenna Beirne, Lindsey Bieber, Rachel Binney, Sheridan Devito, Kristen Hellar, Jessica Lauro, Katie Lorber, Jillian McNamara, Isabella Vieria, Brielle Wymbs.
Angela Ye was not in the photo.
