The Department of Motor Vehicles has opened its seventh new test-by-appointment center for learner’s permits in Danbury.
The city joins Bridgeport, Cheshire, Norwalk, Wethersfield, Hamden and Willimantic with the program.
Any teen or adult needing a learner’s permit can go to the website to schedule an appointment.
The DMV Danbury office at 2 Lee Mac Avenue will start testing by appointment Dec. 17.
The appointment process will replace the Danbury office’s current walk-in-and-wait process for a learner’s permit test.
Customers should go to the DMV website to book appointments.
After entering required information, a $59 payment for the learner’s permit test must be made through a major credit card or electronic check.
