COPS: Stamford man stabbed restaurant worker

DANBURY — A 19 year old Stamford man is facing assault charges after stabbing a restaurant worker Sunday morning, police said.

Jay Travis Vanterpool, of Baxter Avenue, Stamford was arrested Sunday about 12:40 a.m. in front of The Patty House, 14 Ives St, Danbury.

Vanterpool and two other men were drinking outside of the restaurant and a worker from the restaurant asked them to leave, police said. Vanterpool pulled out a knife and stabbed the worker in the arm, police said. Police arriving on the scene heard a loud noise and one of the men was smashing a brick into the plate glass window of the restaurant, according to the arrest report.

Vanterpool was charged with second-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace. He was held Sunday on a $10,000 bond for arraignment Monday in Superior Court in Danbury.
