OSHA at Brookfield construction accident

For the second day, an OSHA compliance officer is on the site Tuesday of a construction accident that occurred Monday at 388-414 Federal Road.

OSHA Area Director Robert W. Kowalski reported that a worker at the site sustained fractures and possible head trauma in a fall at the residential construction site. It was being determined if the worker fell from the form he was setting or if the flooring gave out under him, Kowalski said.

The worker was setting up forms to pour concrete at the site when the fall occurred, according to Kowalski. The worker’s name or place of residence was not released Tuesday. He was transported to Danbury Hospital Monday afternoon.

According to the New England Regional Council of Carpenters, the worked was an employee of Ray Con Construction LLC, a Meriden-based contractor, while the projet’s general contractor is Di Marco Contructors LLC of Rochester, NY

BROOKFIELD — The state Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) reports sending a compliance officer to the scene of a construction accident in which a worker was injured Monday about 3:30 p.m.. No further details were available.

The site is at 388-414 Federal Road in Brookfield. That is the site of construction of incentive housing by BRT Development, according to Brookfield Zoning Commission minutes.
