Man found with secret compartment of drugs in Danbury

A Waterbury man is being held on a $200,000 bond after being arrested in Danbury for selling drugs out of his car.

After receiving several complaints about prostitution and drug activity in the area of Foster and Bank Street, the Danbury police started watching the area, police said.

Bryan Montalvo was stopped by officers on Tuesday after being seen with a ” known prostitute” in his car, police said. When officers looked in the car, drugs were laid out in plain sight. After further searching, a secret compartment was found in the car that held a large amount of heroin and crack cocaine.

Montalvo was charged with possession of narcotics, two counts of possession of narcotics with intent to sell, two counts of possession within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of crack cocaine, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating with a suspended license.

No court date has been set for Montalvo.
