It took only 10 minutes for the Bridgewater Fire Department to put out an equipment fire at Stuart Family Farm in Bridgewater.
A small tractor had caught on fire while inside one of the farm’s barns said Joe Kuchinski, of Bridgewater Fire Department.
The fire produced heavy smoke and flames, destroying the tractor, Kuchinski said. Luckily there was only minor damage to the barn door.
Roxbury and New Milford fire departments also responded.
UPDATE: JAN. 29: 2 p.m. The fire in the barn on Town Line Road was in fact a piece of equipment that caught fire, according to Bill Stuart. There was no damage to the barn structure, Stuart said.
The barn is part of Stuart’s son’s farming operation, Stuart Family Farm.
BRIDGEWATER — Fire companies are fighting a barn fire at 38 Townline Road in Bridgewater Thursday at 12:30 p.m.
The barn is believed to belong to Bill Stuart, the former long-time first selectman in the town. Stuart has a herd of beef cattle.
