Frigid temps in store for Danbury

It’s going to be a cold day and night in Danbury, as an arctic front pushes into Connecticut.

A wind chill advisory has been issued for Danbury and surround towns by the National Weather Service. A quick coating of snow is likely between 11 a.m.  and 5 p.m., with a potential for icing on roadways as temperatures drop below freezing Thursday night. Only an inch of snow is expected.

Residents can expect frigid wind chill values between 20 and 25 during the day. Thursday night will bring wind chills of 15 to 20 degrees below zero, according to the National Weather Service.

The frigid  conditions will make it dangerous for those outside. According to the National Weather Service, the strong winds and low wind chill values could result in frost bite and lead to hypothermia.

Residents are urged to dress  warmly with a hat and gloves if venturing outside Thursday night.
