DANBURY — A threat written with a Sharpie in a boys bathroom at Danbury High School was found not to be credible by Danbury Police.
“Our police department has fully investigated the threat and deemed it not credible,” Mayor Mark Boughton said. “We take everything that is said or written about a threat to the schools seriously and detectives investigated this thoroughly and found it to be not viable.”
Boughton said there will still be an added police presence at the high school on Wednesday and Superintendent of Schools Sal Pascarella will be assuring parents that the incident has been investigated thoroughly.
The threat was reported to have indicated that a shooting would take place at the school this Wednesday following the February break. Parents alarmed by seeing a post on Facebook warning about the threat reached out to Boughton, who gave assurances that the incident had been investigated and found not viable.
The writing was found on a boys bathroom wall two weeks ago, Boughton said. Rumors have been circulating since that he wants to put to rest.
