Cops: Prostitute, client caught during sexual act in Danbury

A prostitute was caught during a sexual act with a client in a van parked on a dead-end road in Danbury Tuesday morning, police said.

Officers from the Community Conditions Unit were in plain clothes driving an unmarked vehicle on Stevens Street at about 9:30 a.m. when they saw Anjelica Miraglia, 25, of Danbury, walking up and down the street attempting to wave down cars, according to the report.

Police said the woman then got into a van with Michael Edwards, 60, of Brookfield, and the pair headed to Oil Mill Road, a dead-end street. Officers followed the van and when they approached the vehicle, they saw the suspects engaging in a sexual act, police said.

After taking the pair into custody, police found a glass jar containing mushrooms in Miraglia’s purse. The mushrooms tested positive for the psychedelic drug Psilocybin, according to the report.

The woman was charged with prostitution, possession of hallucinogen and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was held in lieu of $500 bond.

Edwards was charged with patronizing a prostitute and possession of marijuana. He was released on a promise to appear in court March 10.
