New Milford traffic stop leads to drug arrest

NEW MILFORD — A speeding violation on Danbury Road led to a drug possession arrest for a 24-year-old local man.

Alhenise Rosa, of Flower Hill Road, New Milford was stopped Friday about 12:24 a.m. at near the Valero gas station on Danbury Road after an officer saw his 2002 Subaru Legacy speeding, police said.

During the traffic stop the New Milford Police Narcotics K-9 was called to the scene and located marijuana hidden inside the steering column, police said. The marijuana was packaged individually, according to police.

Rosa was arrested and charged with transport of cannabis with intent to sell and possession of less than 4 ounces of marijuana. He was released on $1,500 bond with a court date March 30 in Superior Court in Bantam.
