A Danbury man was beaten and robbed after he “accidentally brushed up against” another man on Railroad Place Monday morning, police said.
The 57-year-old victim tried to walk away after the accident, but the suspect and two other men started yelling and him, pulled him back and punched him, according to the report.
Police identified the suspect as Mikayel Zullo, 19, of Aaron Samuels Boulevard, Danbury.
The victim was also hit from behind with what police believe was a bottle and he then fell to the ground, police said. The three males took an undisclosed amount of money from the victim, according to police.
Zullo was charged with second-degree assault, sixth-degree larceny, first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery and breach of peace. He is being held in lieu of $75,000 bond.
The victim was treated at Danbury Hospital.
