BETHEL – A man was injured after a fire broke out in a Castle Hill Drive home in Bethel Wednesday morning, Fire Marshal Thomas Galliford said.

The Stony Hill and Bethel fire departments were called to the single-family house at about 9:50 a.m. and they found an active fire on the first floor, Galliford said in a news release.

With help of Bethel police officers, a firefighter quickly rescued one occupant who was still inside.

The man was taken to Danbury Hospital with injuries consistent with smoke inhalation, the fire marshal wrote.

The fire was extinguished within 10 minutes, but its cause is still under investigation.
