Frank Weller, the owner of the original letter Al Pacino’s new film is based on at his horse rescue farm.
Al Pacino’s newest film, Danny Collins, is based on a true story about a letter written by John Lennon that took 34 years to reach its intended recipient, British musician Steve Tilston.
Frank Weller, former New Milford Film Commission chairman, owns the original letter having bought it several years ago at a Christie’s auction.
“It’s interesting to consider that both the story and the film would not have been possible if I hand’t tracked down Mr. Tilson and sent him a copy of the letter as a friendly gesture,” Weller said. “The letter and its profound messge have changed lives, enhanced careersand, now, will entertain millions.”
