DANBURY — An 18-year-old student was charged Friday night after a fight during the Newtown High School senior prom, police said.
Private security personnel working at the event at the Matrix Conference and Banquet Center in Danbury broke up the fight at about 10 p.m., according to the report. Police said the suspect attacked a 20-year-old man and punched him in the face several times.
Kyle Robertson, of Apple Blossom Lane, Newtown, was charged with third-degree assault and breach of peace.
It is not clear what led the student to hit the victim, police said. The 20-year-old refused medical attention.
