Eric Mahl has been named the new music director and conductor of the Ridgefield-based Western Connecticut Youth Orchestra. He will begin his tenure July 1 and will take part in the June auditions for the 2015-16 season.
Current Maestro Petko Dimitrov will “pass the baton” to Mahl at this season’s final concert, at 4 p.m. May 31 at Scotts Ridge Middle School. WCYO alumni are invited to participate in the concert.
Musicians interested in joining the orchestra can attend an open rehearsal from 5-8:45 p.m. on May 7 at Scotts Ridge.
