Residents will have a chance this week to hear about the ongoing carp project to reduce the milfoil growth in Candlewood Lake.
A public meeting on the project will be held Wednesday, beginning at 7 p.m. in room 125 of the Western Connecticut State University Science Building, 181 White St., Danbury.
In December, the Candlewood Lake Authority was awarded a $50,000 matching grant from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection to help stock the lake with about 4,000 sterile grass carp.
The plan is to use the carp to eat the Eurasian watermilfoil, removing it from the lake.
