The CityCenter Danbury Green on Ives Street will host The Chaski Fest from noon-8 p.m. Saturday.
Chaski is a Quechua word — the native Andean language — for messenger, and the festival will celebrate Earth and its maintenance through music, dance, yoga, capoeira (a Brazilian art form) and environmental activism.
The event will be presented free by the World Conscious Pact Northeast, a regional chapter of a worldwide group of supporters of the rights of Mother Nature.
More than a dozen groups are expected to perform, including the West Conn Drum Circle. The event’s motto is “eco mensajeros con amor,” which translates to “be conscious and act with love.”
