The two-vehicle crash on I-84 in Newtown has been cleared but police could not immediately provide any information about the driver who was extricated.
Officers remain on the scene as they wait for tow trucks to pick up the car and tractor trailer that were involved in the accident, police said.

State Police have confirmed that a driver is being extricated from a vehicle on I-84 in Newtown.
All westbound lanes are closed as of 2:30 p.m., police said.

NEWTOWN — A driver is being extricated from a vehicle following a car vs. tractor trailer crash on westbound Interstate 84 by exit 9, according to scanner reports.
The accident appears to be serious and is causing delays on the highway.
