DANBURY — A fight over money during a pool game at a downtown restaurant sent a man to the hospital and then to jail with another one Thursday night, police said.

When officers arrived at El Milennio Restaurant, 21 North St., they found Alcibiades Munoz-Perez sitting in the bar area and holding a bloody shirt to the left side of his face, according to the report. Police said the man had suffered a deep laceration to his cheek after being struck with a glass bottle.

Munoz-Perez, 33, of Danbury, described the men who attacked him as two Honduran brothers, police said.

After an investigation, which included surveillance footage from the building, police said they learned the fight began after Munoz-Perez bet $100 over a pool game with one of the suspects, Wilfredo Amaya-Pacheco, and placed the money on the table.

Police said the other brother, Jose Amaya-Pacheco, then took the cash and the two started an argument.

Officers learned Munoz-Perez lost a bet he made with Jose Amaya-Pacheco months prior and the suspect claimed he was entitled with the money, according to the report.

As the argument turned physical, both brothers confronted Munoz-Perez until Jose Amaya Pacheco hit him with a bottle on the face, police said. After several patrons interfered, the two brothers left the scene, according to police.

Munoz-Perez was taken to the hospital and later charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Police found Wilfredo Amaya-Pacheco that night and charged him with disorderly conduct. A warrant for his brother’s arrest is pending and he will likely be charged with assault, police said.
