DANBURY — A 20-year-old woman who tried to use a sword against two men in a city apartment last week was shot in the stomach, police said Wednesday.
The victim was treated at Danbury Hospital but the shooter and another suspect are still at large, according to the report.
When officers arrived at the Town Hill Avenue building at about 12:30 a.m. Friday, a 21-year-old man told police he was just shutting the entrance door to a common hallway that leads to his apartment when two men forced their way in and began beating him, police said.
The woman then heard the fight and left the bedroom with a katana sword to help him, according to police.
The two suspects began to retreat and leave the common hallway, but one of them turned around and fired a shot at the woman, police said.
The victims were unable to describe the assailants.
