DANBURY – A man was arrested Tuesday after police said he crashed into a car in a parking lot and continued driving while intoxicated.
Scott Reifschneider, 49, of Bethel, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and evading responsibility.
Police said he hit a parked car in the lot of Michael’s II Café, 30 South St., and ignored the driver of the struck car who was signaling with his horn. The victim followed the suspect until police stopped Reifschneider in Bethel.
When speaking with the suspect, the officers detected an odor of alcoholic beverage and he was taken into custody, according to the report.
Reifschneider posted $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 1.
