
Regimental Sgt. Major Neil Aiello served in WWII and was Danbury’s Memorial Day Parade Honorary Parade Marshal
DANBURY — The Honorary Parade Marshal at the Memorial Day Parade in Danbury Monday was Neil Aiello, 92, who served in World War II as a technical sergeant in the Army in the 88th Infantry Division, 350th Regiment.
His division defended the border of Yugoslavia and Italy. His unit camped on the floor of an old volcano until they moved to Trieste near the border of Yugoslavia.
Aiello was honorably discharged in 1947 with the rank of Regimental Sergeant Major. He remains active in the Catholic War Veterans Post #42.
